A family shop that builds serious things.

CoreShield is the custom-build arm of Obsidian Clad Labs— a husband-and-wife software studio in Tennessee. Charles builds; Billie runs sales and operations. Our crew and a couple of dogs round out the shop.

Charles spent 20 years driving process improvement and automation inside a Fortune 10 company — untangling the kind of manual, error-prone, paper-choked workflows that quietly cost a business a fortune. CoreShield is that same enterprise-grade discipline, pointed at Main Street.

We started by building our own products — TeachShield, ClauseShield, and LienShield — because we wanted to make good software affordable for regular people. Along the way we learned exactly what it takes to ship real software: the boring parts, the hard parts, and the parts most shops skip.

CoreShield is us pointing that same craft at your problem. Custom software, AI workflows, and purpose-built computers — enterprise-grade work, at a scale and price that makes sense for a local business or a single person with a big idea.

Enterprise power. Family-shop care. Built in Tennessee.

What we stand for

Three promises

We build it right

No vibe coding, no quick fixes we hope you won't notice. If our name ships on it, it's built to hold up.

We're on your side

Fixed quotes, plain language, and honest advice — including telling you when you don't need to build the thing at all.

We stick around

Software you can't reach anyone about isn't finished. We deploy it, support it, and answer the phone.

Let's build something together.
